COVERED WAGON DERBY – 2018

Howdy Y’all!

Come with Pack 24 to the wild, wild west, as we head to Cub Scout Camp Norse in Kingston, Mass. from 9 AM to 2:30 PM on Saturday, October 20th, for a fun-filled western-themed day for Scouts and their families. Register before it’s too late. Details below.

Cub Scout teams will push and pull their covered wagons around the “Old West,” stopping at “towns” (activity stations) where they will have fun, and demonstrate basic Scout knowledge and skills appropriate for their age and rank. Cub Scouts will work together at each town while being engaged in exciting activities that build self-esteem and teamwork skills. There will be other packs from Attleboro and many other communities from throughout the region. The Pack 24 covered wagon will be there too. The boys will all have a turn pulling the wagon around as they travel the camp and manage their way around the occasional bovine pie.

Boots & Spurs Since no respectable cowboy goes out without his hat, y’all are encouraged to channel your inner cowboy/girl and dress in western wear, if ya like. Denim, plaid, bandana, ten-gallon hats, cowboy/hiking boots, are all welcome, or yur young mustang rider can simply wear his Cub Scout Class B uniform.

Chuck Wagon?

For lunch, y’all can bring your own lunch/cooler or purchase on site. The old canteen usually serves up some soup, hot dogs, chips, soda and water for a nominal price.

What’s the Damage?

The cost is only $10.00 per Scout for a day of thrillin’-spillin’ fun. Siblings and adults can participate at no cost. The fee gets your young wrangler a leather wagon cutout that he can hang special beads on that he will earn by completing activities at each “town” he visits.
